my approach
I am interactive, warm, and collaborative as I support children, teens, and adults as they grow and heal in therapy. My approach draws on current neuroscientific research, which acknowledges that overwhelming experiences get stuck in our minds, bodies, and emotions. These old experiences can continue to influence our feelings, behaviors, and relationship styles despite our best efforts to move past them. I work with people of all ages to uncover and shift out of these stuck places.
The process of therapy can bring insight into which patterns serve you and leave you feeling nourished and understood. If you feel empty, misunderstood, or dissatisfied, therapy can also help to lay new groundwork for emotions, reactions, and relationships that bring you greater happiness and deeper connection to yourself and others.
It is my firm belief that when given time and space you have the wisdom to overcome any challenges you face. It is my job to help you uncover that wisdom, and to reflect back to you what I notice, using humor, warmth, kindness, and hope.
